Barbie Makeovers

So, today I gave my long lost barbie a new makeover. I found her in the bin. Her hair was all knotted (see before picture) and she was quite a sight. But, I gave her a bath, brushed her hair, dried her hair and picked out and outfit with matching shoes and a hair bad. Then, I braided her hair. PLUS, I made her a belt and a necklace! Voila! Now I can actually play with her. If you want to try it find a barbie all wrecked up. Then, once you have bathed it, if needed, trim the hair BEFORE drying! Put the hair drier on low and hold far away from hair! Well, good luck! Oh, and remember to take a before and after picture! Post comments please!

Blogging

A lot of people have wanted us to blog so here we go.

We have had a nice break so far, but it isn't over yet. I have a million things on my to do list! I have to get something at Goodwill for my writing group. Figure out when people are free so we can schedule the group. Then, I need to organize the bathroom cupboards, I need to clean my room, and I want to play Scrabble, play Playmobil with Kate or maybe call someone to come over and play playmobil. So, that's my plans.

I also want to finish my book Tuck Everlasting. It is a very good book. It is about this family called the Tucks consisting of Mae Tuck, Tuck Tuck, the father, and Miles and Jesse the sons. They find this spring of water when they come to Treegap, and they drink some, each. Except for the cat. The horse even drank some. But, the water gives you eternal life. There is also a movie of it so you may want to watch that. Tuck, the father keeps having these dreams about like there was no Treegap, they never drank the water and such. Miles the older brother was married but since he never grew old, his wife left him and took the kids. Then, the cat had died. So, one day these hunters mistake the horse for a deer and they shoot it, but the horse does not die. Since the horse had a drink of water it stays alive. Mae Tuck also has this music box, and this guy with a yellow suit wants to get the water and sell it. That's as far as I have gotten. Oh my, I forgot to mention the Fosters. Winnie Foster is so bored of being bossed around by her mother and grandmother and at the beginning she wants to run away. She keeps talking to this toad, but I do not think the toad is important.

I have so much to do, so I hope you are inspired by this blog and get out your brooms, wallets, and books! But, don't buy too much stuff!

Only Child for the Weekend

While Mama slaves away making pancakes I am writing this blog. Kate has gone on a camping trip in Bellmont WITH indoor plumbing thank you very much. They are staying in a cabin. So, that leaves me with the choice of staying in bed, turning on the light and reading, then getting up, finishing my book and eating! I can also choose to play whatever game I want or watch any movie I want. But those are the pros, here are some cons. It's lonely, there's no one to fight with, and it's sad. I am hoping I will go to Bellmont with my girl scout troop and my family will miss me, but when you're the first child, I guess you just get lucky because your family is paying you back for when the second child was born, but that is from the second child's point of view. Wow, I think that was a run on sentence but I'm too lazy to change it! :-0. Overall, I'm happy but if you are a second child you may feel the same way sometimes, 'cause hey, we all have times when we think negative. If you feel something stirring in your stomach while you read this, if this brings back memories, then know you are one of us... Being, the second child!

4th Grade Update

Well, here's the latest! On Friday we dissected owl pellets. I was partners with Betsy. We both think the owl pellet we took apart had the bones of a bird in it. But, owl typically eat rats and mice, so we weren't sure. We also baked this really yummy bread. We have been baking bread without dairy products so this vegan boy in our class can eat it, and trust me, having this guy in my class can be a pain the rear end!!! Last year, we couldn't have popcorn, we had to have this stuff called Kettle Korn, which in my opinion is the most disgusting. :P. Let's see, some more highlights of my week. Well, I have now been to two cross country meets. I enjoyed the first one, but the second, not so much. Well, for starters there were about 25 teams there, so it made it really long, and it was really more like a blur that ran past you. Then, there was waiting. The award ceremonies were torcher!!!! They repeated the same thing, like a million times! The ground was all mucky from the night before. It had poured rain!!! Also, this isn't really a highlight but here we go... I have reached level seven I believe on Type to Learn. They now do WPM which makes it more likely for me to do the sentence over. So, I have been having to go back and practice many reaches before being permitted to go back to where I left off. This is also torcher. The funny thing is, we are always there in the morning, so when the stupid dumb insane boring tiring pledge of allegiance comes on, you can hear the voice from the computer saying, "e" all the way through. Okay, well that's all 4 now. Please COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE XC!

You will notice that the theme colors of the blog right now are red, white, and green. You will also notice that it is September, and we still have a little while until Christmas. Well, as you all know, I am now in Tri-North Middle School, and yes, we share our colors with Christmas. I just wanted to show a little bit of TEAM SPIRIT!
Not only have I been getting up at 6:00 am and dragging myself to the bus stop, but I have also been participating in Cross Country. Even after just the first day, I knew that I was going to love it and as I expected, I have. I love the girls on the team, and our coach is great. He is very encouraging and supportive and will push us as far as he thinks that we can go. He wants us to always try and win in races, but knows that that we can't always come in first.
Unfortunately, our team is very small and we only have nine girls. However, as the eighth graders are constantly repeating, "This team is a lot faster than last year's which was much bigger." On the subject of being fast, let's go on to meets. Our first meet was against a private school and the girls won by two points 27 to 29. The boys on the other hand lost. (For those of you that don't know, you want to get the lowest score in cross country.)I came in fifth. Our second meet was against three other schools and with a tough course. One of these schools in particular has been a long time rival with Tri-North. We pretty much whooped their butts if I may put it that way. (They had 20 points more!) I came in fourth in this race. Our most recent race, which we just had this morning, was against 22 or 23 other teams. We came in fifth. I came in seventeenth. My friend on the team won all three races. Yes, she beat over 200 girls and won the Eagle Classic Cross Country Race!
I really love cross country. I love running. I love spending time with friends and meeting new potential friends. (Who now are my friends.) On the most boring and exhausting days, (and trust me,with ISTEP testing next week, there will be plenty of those!) the thought of cross country and these people really gets me through. And that is why I have shown some team spirit!

South Dakota

I forgot to add we had an anniversary dinner for my grandparents. We served them a green salad, with kiwi, peaches, Gorgonzola cheese, and homemade dressing. As and Entree, we served them, Fresh Salmon, Baby Roasted Potatoes, and Sauteed Squash, then, as a delectable dessert, we had made Creme Caramel, my Gramp's favorite. My sister and I both made beautiful menus. We had seated them by candlelight, but being grandparents, they asked the staff to join them after one course. It was supposed to just be the two of them and the kitchen was supposed to be off limits while preparing the food, so in just one course we made sure to give them a lot of refills and check on them a lot because as my mom had warned us, this would probably be the only course they ate alone, I am going to bring home a menu.

South Daktoa

So, we (me, Anna, Kate, Mommy, and Auntie Anne) got here about 9:30 central time last night and about 10:30 our time, so we were pretty tired. But, I couldn't go to sleep without that brownie Grammy had suggested. SO we ate brownies and ice cream outside because it was such a nice night. I went to sleep in my "Lion King" sleeping bag on a mattress on the floor with Annie (my doll) beside me, while Kate got the bed because she had felt terrible the night before. So, me and my mom crept down stairs the next morning without her so she could sleep. I had a sticky bun for breakfast and soon when me and Kate are in our clothes, well, we don't even have to be in our clothes to start the day but I have a mental list of all the things we have to do so we will be very busy, but I promised my dad and some other people I would email them and keep them updated every day so if you're not one of those people who got an email on the 4th of August you will not probably be receiving mail from me!

Being 17% Dumb

Well, now I have completed third grade and this dumb quiz says that I am 17% dumb! Well, now I have to repeat third grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It feels very dumb to be called dumb by a computer! How rude!

Yesterday, Thursday, I went into Mrs. Darby's classroom and helped her for five hours! Sophie w. and Sophie Y. were there and it was fun. We ate pizza and I took home an aloe plant. Ally Jr. the aloe plant!

Mice or No Mice?

In Mrs. Darby's class in December or sometime like that last year of 2007 she introduced a contest for essay and picture. We were doing a topic of: Variety Is The Spice Of Life. I wrote a very long but good essay with examples of different kinds and many other things. Once mine had been sent in the class was just waiting. A little while after Mrs. Darby showed us a poster contest with the same topic. I entered, but since I am not an artist it didn't look that great. In 2008 in March Mrs. Darby announced the winners. I received a certificate to Simon Malls in Indiana at the value of $150. A Korean boy in my class won 1st place for poster. Ironically, he was the runner up in the spelling bee as I was the representative for Mrs. Darby's class. Funny how things just add up like that. So according to my title and picture I am thinking of getting mice. Just one, simple cage, food, bedding, and maybe a wheel for fun since I don't want it to die of boredom. When you comment, tell me what you think and keep on checking for more news about the mice! If you have had experience with this kind of thing, like dwarf hamsters, mice of any kind, hamsters at any size, something like that, I would be happy to hear about it. So comment away!

It's About Time!

Sorry we haven't been blogging much. It looks like Mama just posted on... Thursday?

Yes, warm cocoa is very nice on these cold February days.

The ice we had was unbelievable! I have to check on our piles of ice outside. Good question! Well, here is the answer. Sarah and Sophie were over and we were chipping ice. There were really big humongo pieces and some little. Also, there were some just in between.

Gotta go!

First February Post

It's a wintry day in February. I've just made cocoa for the girls, and since the bookmobile is cancelled, we're not going out again tonight (except to feed the Mad Queen's cat). We had a school delay earlier this week, and now the girls go to sleep each night and wake up every morning hoping for another. Depending on which groundhog you consulted on February 2, no one should be surprised at the weather we've had lately.

We have been very wrapped up in a number of family things in recent weeks and have been neglecting our blog completely. We'll be back soon.

M+Ms

Hello everybody! I wanted to catch you up on everything happening in Tamarron. The first thing is first. This afternoon Mama and I picked up at least 1,000 leaves, not to mention about the hundred packing peanuts that were not ours. The night the wind was howling someone's packing peanuts blew all over the entrance. We waited a couple of days to see if they would pick them up but nothing happened. SO as soon as I had stepped on Kate's foot I agreed that I would come help Mama and Amy Wallace pick up the garbage. I was freezing but I bent over and yet picked up more leaves. I hate leaves. They blew right out of my hands and that meant more chasing and bending. That went on for maybe half an hour before I got the hang of it. I gripped them tightly and stuffed them in the bag. I swung the garbage bag over my shoulder like Santa and carried it down the cul-de-sac to the next house. Then we wanted to head home so that meant a cold journey in my slippers that are really too small. We put away the tools but I lingered behind a little bit for no reason at all. After that I thought I needed M+Ms. We ate dinner and did many dances before I practiced for (can you guess what?) M+Ms ! I played many Etudes (or at least it felt that way!) and finally I get to practice Proverbs for more M+Ms. It has been a night full of sugar and M+Ms . I like that... . Anyway, I have to go. Bye! P.S. I am trying to type longer blogs , can you tell?

Hello!

Dudders is gone and we have gone to see National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets and we are going to see the Golden Compass based on the book by Philip Pullman. I have not read the book though some say it is anti-religious. I don't believe that but I am not saying you can't believe that. You are free to dream what you want and think what you want. That is my point today, do whatever you feel is right even if it makes you look bad to some people. (I am not talking about punching or hurting here, peeps!) You should say what you want to say. It may hurt somebody's feelings but you can apologize, you've done your part in being true to your heart, so that's all you can do. All the other person has to do is accept it. Sorry for all this stuff I rambled on about and it makes me look dumb, but, whatever... Happy 2008!
