Spring Break
Wow! If I posted my whole spring break "to do" list, it would take up this whole post. Cleaning out my room, watching a movie a day, getting outside, maybe getting Wii Fit, getting together with lots of people, those are just some of my, and my family's goals. Preferably, I would want to do some of the less labor intensive things, but, having a cleaner room would be nice. When are they going to invent the magic spell that cleans your room? Sure, Cinderella's dress spell was nice, but less useful. All in favor of my preposition, comment yay, or nay, depending on your opinion. Those of you "yayers" you have a little project for spring break. Otherwise, I suggest going to movies, being a couch potato, or doing whatever. Sometimes I consider quitting the violin so I have more free time, but then I consider the effects. Nothing to get mad at my parents about, nothing to do when I don't have anything to do, nothing to procrastinate on, and since 66.6% of my friends play it so, then I would kinda be out of the band wagon. But, I have an idea. I am considering writing a continuous story that will cliffhang after every post. For those of you not knowing what a cliffhanger is, it is a point in a story where you stop abruptly leaving the reader in suspense, wanting more, and hanging. Normally used at the end of chapters. Misused by authors at the end of paragraphs. Then, the reader can just go on! But, tell me your opinion by comment or email, for those of you who have mine. A cliffhanging moment at the end is what keeps the reader going. If, for example you were reading along a story about a girl who is on a dangerous mission to kill the dark lord of Andenevea, and you were ending a chapter and you read: "She climbed a tree and peered ahead, spotting the dark lord. She followed him and plunged a dagger into his back." Although, it seems like it would make the reader want to know if he dies or not, they may see about how many pages they have, and realize, he can't die. The story would end. So, now picture reading this: "Belca scurried up a tree and sat on a branch. Slipping, she lot her balance and was holding on with one hand. Struggling to grip the branch with both hands she twisted in mid-air. She was hanging right over a stream over 8,000,000 feet below her." Ask yourself these questions: Do you want to read more? Do you prefer version A over B or the other way around? Can you predict what will happen next by using common sense or knowledge? Are you bored with the plot? Does the author drone on, or does it get to the heart of the story? You know what? This post should be called Cliffhangers, but I'm lazy. So, Spring Break remains. Anyway, ask yourself those questions and post your answers!!!!!

Barbie Makeovers
So, today I gave my long lost barbie a new makeover. I found her in the bin. Her hair was all knotted (see before picture) and she was quite a sight. But, I gave her a bath, brushed her hair, dried her hair and picked out and outfit with matching shoes and a hair bad. Then, I braided her hair. PLUS, I made her a belt and a necklace! Voila! Now I can actually play with her. If you want to try it find a barbie all wrecked up. Then, once you have bathed it, if needed, trim the hair BEFORE drying! Put the hair drier on low and hold far away from hair! Well, good luck! Oh, and remember to take a before and after picture! Post comments please!

Blogging
A lot of people have wanted us to blog so here we go.
We have had a nice break so far, but it isn't over yet. I have a million things on my to do list! I have to get something at Goodwill for my writing group. Figure out when people are free so we can schedule the group. Then, I need to organize the bathroom cupboards, I need to clean my room, and I want to play Scrabble, play Playmobil with Kate or maybe call someone to come over and play playmobil. So, that's my plans.
I also want to finish my book Tuck Everlasting. It is a very good book. It is about this family called the Tucks consisting of Mae Tuck, Tuck Tuck, the father, and Miles and Jesse the sons. They find this spring of water when they come to Treegap, and they drink some, each. Except for the cat. The horse even drank some. But, the water gives you eternal life. There is also a movie of it so you may want to watch that. Tuck, the father keeps having these dreams about like there was no Treegap, they never drank the water and such. Miles the older brother was married but since he never grew old, his wife left him and took the kids. Then, the cat had died. So, one day these hunters mistake the horse for a deer and they shoot it, but the horse does not die. Since the horse had a drink of water it stays alive. Mae Tuck also has this music box, and this guy with a yellow suit wants to get the water and sell it. That's as far as I have gotten. Oh my, I forgot to mention the Fosters. Winnie Foster is so bored of being bossed around by her mother and grandmother and at the beginning she wants to run away. She keeps talking to this toad, but I do not think the toad is important.
I have so much to do, so I hope you are inspired by this blog and get out your brooms, wallets, and books! But, don't buy too much stuff!

Only Child for the Weekend
While Mama slaves away making pancakes I am writing this blog. Kate has gone on a camping trip in Bellmont WITH indoor plumbing thank you very much. They are staying in a cabin. So, that leaves me with the choice of staying in bed, turning on the light and reading, then getting up, finishing my book and eating! I can also choose to play whatever game I want or watch any movie I want. But those are the pros, here are some cons. It's lonely, there's no one to fight with, and it's sad. I am hoping I will go to Bellmont with my girl scout troop and my family will miss me, but when you're the first child, I guess you just get lucky because your family is paying you back for when the second child was born, but that is from the second child's point of view. Wow, I think that was a run on sentence but I'm too lazy to change it! :-0. Overall, I'm happy but if you are a second child you may feel the same way sometimes, 'cause hey, we all have times when we think negative. If you feel something stirring in your stomach while you read this, if this brings back memories, then know you are one of us... Being, the second child!

4th Grade Update
Well, here's the latest! On Friday we dissected owl pellets. I was partners with Betsy. We both think the owl pellet we took apart had the bones of a bird in it. But, owl typically eat rats and mice, so we weren't sure. We also baked this really yummy bread. We have been baking bread without dairy products so this vegan boy in our class can eat it, and trust me, having this guy in my class can be a pain the rear end!!! Last year, we couldn't have popcorn, we had to have this stuff called Kettle Korn, which in my opinion is the most disgusting. :P. Let's see, some more highlights of my week. Well, I have now been to two cross country meets. I enjoyed the first one, but the second, not so much. Well, for starters there were about 25 teams there, so it made it really long, and it was really more like a blur that ran past you. Then, there was waiting. The award ceremonies were torcher!!!! They repeated the same thing, like a million times! The ground was all mucky from the night before. It had poured rain!!! Also, this isn't really a highlight but here we go... I have reached level seven I believe on Type to Learn. They now do WPM which makes it more likely for me to do the sentence over. So, I have been having to go back and practice many reaches before being permitted to go back to where I left off. This is also torcher. The funny thing is, we are always there in the morning, so when the stupid dumb insane boring tiring pledge of allegiance comes on, you can hear the voice from the computer saying, "e" all the way through. Okay, well that's all 4 now. Please COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE XC!
You will notice that the theme colors of the blog right now are red, white, and green. You will also notice that it is September, and we still have a little while until Christmas. Well, as you all know, I am now in Tri-North Middle School, and yes, we share our colors with Christmas. I just wanted to show a little bit of TEAM SPIRIT!
Not only have I been getting up at 6:00 am and dragging myself to the bus stop, but I have also been participating in Cross Country. Even after just the first day, I knew that I was going to love it and as I expected, I have. I love the girls on the team, and our coach is great. He is very encouraging and supportive and will push us as far as he thinks that we can go. He wants us to always try and win in races, but knows that that we can't always come in first.
Unfortunately, our team is very small and we only have nine girls. However, as the eighth graders are constantly repeating, "This team is a lot faster than last year's which was much bigger." On the subject of being fast, let's go on to meets. Our first meet was against a private school and the girls won by two points 27 to 29. The boys on the other hand lost. (For those of you that don't know, you want to get the lowest score in cross country.)I came in fifth. Our second meet was against three other schools and with a tough course. One of these schools in particular has been a long time rival with Tri-North. We pretty much whooped their butts if I may put it that way. (They had 20 points more!) I came in fourth in this race. Our most recent race, which we just had this morning, was against 22 or 23 other teams. We came in fifth. I came in seventeenth. My friend on the team won all three races. Yes, she beat over 200 girls and won the Eagle Classic Cross Country Race!
I really love cross country. I love running. I love spending time with friends and meeting new potential friends. (Who now are my friends.) On the most boring and exhausting days, (and trust me,with ISTEP testing next week, there will be plenty of those!) the thought of cross country and these people really gets me through. And that is why I have shown some team spirit!
